One dead in Airplane crash west of New Underwood

RAPID CITY, S.D. – One person is dead and another received life-threatening injuries in a small plane crash near New Underwood Monday morning. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash, which occurred around 6:00 a.m. in a field a mile west of New Underwood. The Piper PA22-150 was heavily damaged and lying on its top as crews arrived. The N.T.S.B. says one person was deceased following the crash.
