RAPID CITY, SD—One of Rapid City Public Library’s most popular events is set for this Saturday with the annual Halloween Story Time.

The event begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Youth Services Area with story time. Children adorned in Halloween costumes will gather in the Youth Services area to hear Halloween stories, then parade through the Library visiting various stations where costumed Library staff will hand out candy. Library staff are also planning new activities for this year’s event, including a craft activity and photo booth.

“The story time will be in the youth services area to accommodate the big crowds we get,” said Library Creative Media Specialist Deirdre Knell. “There’s going to be a snack craft in the Community Room afterwards along with our trick or treating through the building. We also will have a spooky photo booth this year so people can take pictures of their costumes.

“It’s a great way to start off Halloween. It should be a lot of fun.”

The event is free. For more information, contact the Rapid City Public Library at 605-394-6139.
