RAPID CITY, S.D. – A project to mill and repave a section of Universal Drive will begin Sept. 2, bringing lane closures and traffic delays to a busy area of Rapid City.
Simon Contractors will perform the asphalt overlay work on Universal Drive between Sturgis Road and Deadwood Avenue, with an anticipated completion date of Sept. 7. The construction is expected to cause delays for motorists.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane, with a pilot car and flaggers guiding vehicles through the work zone. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes to avoid the construction.
For questions, the public can contact Jon Edwards with Simon Contractors at 605-394-3300. This project is a part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in the Black Hills region of South Dakota.
