Rapid City, SD – The Rapid City Fire Department (RCFD) responded to a significant structure fire last night in the 700 block of E. Anamosa Street. Multiple 911 calls began coming in at approximately 9:30 p.m., reporting visible flames in the vicinity.
Upon arrival at the scene, RCFD crews encountered a working fire within a single-story garage complex. The complex, consisting of 16 individual units, saw flames actively consuming a portion of the structure. Firefighters immediately initiated suppression efforts and successfully brought the blaze under control.
While the swift action of the fire department prevented further spread, eight of the 16 garage units sustained damage as a result of the fire.
Fortunately, no injuries to civilians or first responders were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Rapid City Fire Department. Authorities are working to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the incident.
