RAPID CITY, SD– The Rapid City Council on Monday approved a motion which would allow otherwise unallocated funds to be directed toward the construction of a proposed North Rapid City police precinct.

Mayor Jason Salamun stated for the record, “There’s no transaction tonight,” further elaborating “That will come back at a later time with the exact details of the address and the fund amount. Right now, it’s just preliminary, allocating potential funding”.

Information regarding this decision will likely come in further Council meetings. Currently, the Rapid City Police Department has a station on 625 st. and a substation for north Rapid, located at Uptown Rapid (formerly the Rushmore Mall) at Kansas City St.
