RAPID CITY, SDโ€“ The Rapid City Council on Monday approved a motion which would allow otherwise unallocated funds to be directed toward the construction of a proposed North Rapid City police precinct.

Mayor Jason Salamun stated for the record, โ€œThereโ€™s no transaction tonight,โ€ further elaborating โ€œThat will come back at a later time with the exact details of the address and the fund amount. Right now, itโ€™s just preliminary, allocating potential fundingโ€.

Information regarding this decision will likely come in further Council meetings. Currently, the Rapid City Police Department has a station on 625 st. and a substation for north Rapid, located at Uptown Rapid (formerly the Rushmore Mall) at Kansas City St.
