First game recap:
Mason Brooks collected three hits in four at bats, as Stevens Raiders Varsity defeated Tea Varsity Titans 9-6 on Saturday at Tea. Brooks tripled in the seventh inning, doubled in the third inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.
Tea Varsity Titans opened the scoring in the second after Landyn Johnson drew a walk, scoring one run.
Ben Thompson singled down the left field line, which helped Stevens Raiders Varsity tie the game at one in the top of the third.
An error gave Stevens Raiders Varsity the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth.
Tea Varsity Titans took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Johnson singled, scoring two runs, to give Tea Varsity Titans the edge, 3-2.
Stevens Raiders Varsity scored on a wild pitch, which helped Stevens Raiders Varsity tie the game at three in the top of the fifth.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Tea Varsity Titans went back into the lead after Johnson singled to left field, #76 singled, and Ethan Knettel walked, each scoring one run.
Stevens Raiders Varsity flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 9-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Brooks that drove in two.
William Waddell earned the win for Stevens Raiders Varsity. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Cole McKinney took the loss for Tea Varsity Titans. The hurler went one inning, giving up four runs (zero earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking none. Brady Waddell opened the game for Stevens Raiders Varsity. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and six runs (two earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five. Ian Beer struck out 13 batters as the right-handed pitcher led Stevens Raiders Varsity past Tea Varsity Titans 8-1 on Friday at Tea SD. Beer gave up three hits and zero runs over six innings while walking one.
Teagen Smith collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Smith singled in the seventh inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Stevens Raiders Varsity opened the scoring in the first after Brady Waddell singled, scoring one run.
Stevens Raiders Varsity added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Beer doubled, scoring two runs, and Mason Brooks hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Ben Vasecka took the loss for Tea Varsity Titans. The pitcher went four and one-third innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking three. Nolan Williamson and Austin Flohr each appeared in relief for Stevens Raiders Varsity.
