RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Area Schools (RCAS) has announced the members of the 2025-2026 Student School Board. A total of 17 students from Central and Stevens High Schools were selected to serve on the board, with nine new members and eight returning members.

The Student School Board gives students a direct voice in the school district’s decision-making. Members will be involved in discussions about education, leadership, and community issues impacting students in the Rapid City area.

The new student members are Lewis Carlyle (Stevens, grade 12), Jordan Clown (Central, grade 10), London Gibson (Central, grade 9), Allen Hendrickson (Stevens, grade 11), Paisley Howard (Stevens, grade 12), Weston Howard (Stevens, grade 10), Prestyn Scanlon (Stevens, grade 10), Mathias Stewart (Central, grade 11), and Sakurako Tinant (Stevens, grade 12).

Returning members are Dellmar James Pungot Data (Central, grade 9), Lee Decker (Stevens, grade 11), Bella Nelson (Stevens, grade 10), Trenton Policky (Stevens, grade 12), Lucas Roberts (Stevens, grade 10), Arabella Scott (Stevens, grade 12), Jalyn Tyon (Stevens, grade 9), and Aurelia Urban (Central, grade 9).

A swearing-in ceremony for the new board members is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 29, at 5:30 p.m. at the RCAS Education Center, located at 625 9th St. The ceremony will be held in the second-floor board room and is open to families, staff, and community members.

Kristin Kiner, the Youth Engagement Coordinator for RCAS, said the district is excited to have the students in these leadership roles. Their insights are considered invaluable as the district works to improve the educational experience for all students in the Black Hills region of South Dakota.
