South Rockerville Fire

– Wildland fire in the area of Hwy. 40 and South Rockerville Road.

– South Rockerville Rd. is now open to traffic, please drive with caution as emergency crews are still working in the area.

– Forest Service Rd. 365.1F is closed.

– Granite Point Ct. is only open to residents/local traffic.

– All GO NOW evacuations have been lifted as of 6:30pm. Residents on Granite Point Ct and Metz Rd. may return to their homes.


Rapid City, SD – At close to 5pm on Saturday evening an emergency alert was sent out to mobile phones, blasting every phone with a loud alarm and displaying an alert.

South Rockerville Fire

  • Wildland fire in the area of Hwy. 40 and South Rockerville Road.
  • Homes on Granite Point Ct. and Metz Rd. are advised to GO NOW by evacuating to the east on Hwy 40. Pennington County Sheriff’s Deputies have made door-to-door notifications in the affected area.
  • South-bound traffic on South Rockerville Rd. is closed at Neck Yoke Rd.
  • North-bound traffic on South Rockerville Rd. is closed at Hwy 40.
