Rapid City is turning up the dial this weekend with pinball, wine, art, comedy, and enough live music to keep the Black Hills buzzing from Friday through Saturday night. Here’s your guide to what’s happening downtown and beyond.


Friday Highlights

Free Pinball Fridays at Haycamp Brewery – 4pm
Kick off the weekend with flippers, bumpers, and brews at Haycamp Brewing. From 4 to 6pm, enjoy two free hours of social pinball with Heroes & Villains. Whether you’re a first-time player or a seasoned high-scorer, it’s a family-friendly chance to hang out, connect, and maybe even tilt a machine or two.

Nervous Turtles at Firehouse Wine Cellars – 5pm
Happy Hour meets harmony as Feel Good Fridays continues with the acoustic trio Nervous Turtles. From 5 to 7pm, sip $5 wines while Tom Haggerty, Mark Longville, and Roger Schriver blend blues, gospel, and light rock into a mellow backdrop for your Friday night unwind.

EPA Spotlight at The Dahl Fine Arts Center – 6pm
Celebrate creativity for free at The Dahl’s Bruce H. Lien Cultural Café & Gallery. This month’s lineup includes Tom Whillock, JJ Kent & Native Flute, Dakota Drum Circle, and Alicia & Christopher Pozorski, with emerging visual artist Hugh Baxley featured on display.

Zac Maas at West River Comedy Club – 7:30pm
Born in Deadwood, forged in Denver, comedian Zac Maas returns home with sharp wit and national credits. Named one of Thrillist’s 50 Best Undiscovered Comedians, his set promises equal parts punchline and homecoming pride. (21+ only.)

Johnny Hastings & Stillhouse Down at 707 Night Club – 7:30pm
Local blues master Johnny Hastings brings his powerhouse guitar and band to 707 for a night of covers, originals, and emotional blues that’ll make the walls shake and the crowd sway.


Saturday Highlights

Tartoberfest at Woodland Republic Brewery – Noon
Pucker up—Tartoberfest is back! From sour beer relays to mystery flight tastings, trivia, and a full beer pong tourney, it’s an all-day festival of sours, prizes, and new releases. Sign up your crew early for the relay or just show up thirsty.

Cosmic Lava Painting Class at Canvas 2 Paint – 3pm
Unwind with brushes, canvas, and a guided art class in the heart of downtown. Everything’s included—just bring your creativity for this cosmic-themed two-hour session.

Noise in the Barn at ABY’s – 7pm
Close out Saturday night at ABY’s as Noise in the Barn electrifies the stage with a mix of country and classic rock favorites. A high-energy set, cold drinks, and a packed dance floor are guaranteed.
