RAPID City, S.D. – A Rapid City man with an active warrant was arrested Wednesday night after police located him in an apartment on Haines Avenue. Parker Reid, 23, was taken into custody on his outstanding warrant and charged with obstruction.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., officers observed a passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on N. 7th Street. Police attempted a traffic stop but located the vehicle a short time later in the parking lot of 715 Haines Avenue.
A witness at the scene informed officers the male driver had exited the vehicle and entered an apartment. The vehicle was identified as belonging to Reid, who was known to have an active warrant for his arrest.
Officers made multiple attempts to contact Reid from outside the apartment. After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, police entered and located Reid inside. He was arrested for his existing warrant and for obstruction before being transported to the Pennington County Jail and booked at 11:49pm.
