RAPID CITY, S.D. – Police in Rapid City are investigating an unattended death reported on Monday.
Police were dispatched to the I-190 bridge just west of Central High School for a report of an unresponsive male subject. Upon arrival, police located the deceased individual.
Evidence was collected on scene by the Rapid City Criminal Investigation Division and investigation into the death is underway.
Public Information Officer Brendyn Medina says incidents like this are hard on the whole community. RCPD Public Information Officer Brendyn Medina, “We have a number of partners to patrol the bike path, patrol the areas that we know that our vulnerable population tend to make their lives and you know at this point, this is … You can’t look at this as anything but a tragedy.”
