STURGIS, S.D. – Two juveniles declined medical treatment following an accident at the intersection of Junction and Lazelle Street in Sturgis Thursday morning.

Sturgis Police Chief Geody Vandewater says it appears a white-colored Hummer being driven by a male juvenile was stopped at the intersection waiting for a red light. The driver made a right turn onto Lazelle from Junction Avenue but failed to yield to a Toyota Tundra that was traveling eastbound on Lazelle.

The two vehicles collided, causing substantial damage to both.

Vandewater says all occupants involved were juveniles and were evaluated on scene by Sturgis Ambulance personnel.

He says the driver of the Hummer was cited for careless driving.
