Three RCAS Students Earn Seal of Biliteracy Recognition

The South Dakota Seal of Biliteracy is a prestigious recognition that honors students who have attained a high level of proficiency in English and at least one additional language. Rapid City Area Schools is proud to announce that three students have been awarded the Seal for 2025. This achievement highlights the dedication of these students and the value of bilingualism in today’s world.

This year’s recipients, who demonstrated proficiency in Spanish and Japanese, are:

  • Olivia Miller – Spanish
  • Arabella Scott – Spanish
  • Sakurako Tinant – Japanese

“We are so proud of Olivia, Arabella, and Sakurako,” said Bobbie Jo Donovan, RCAS College & Career Readiness Manager. “Earning the Seal of Biliteracy takes a lot of dedication, and it shows their commitment not only to academics but also to understanding and appreciating another culture. These skills will serve them well in college, career, and life.”
