Rapid City Man Arrested Following Carjacking and Burglary
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Police arrested 20-year-old Devyn White Pipe Saturday night after a carjacking and burglary on the 400 block of East Anamosa Street. Officers say the victim was sitting in his car around 9 p.m. when Pipe got into the backseat with a rifle. The victim exited the vehicle, and Pipe drove off. Police tracked the vehicle using a tracking feature on headphones left in the car and arrested Pipe near Sixth and Main streets. The stolen rifle, taken from a home on the same block, was recovered.
Rapid City Man Robbed After Asking About Marijuana
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Police are investigating a robbery and assault that occurred Saturday night after a man visiting Rapid City asked a woman where to buy marijuana. The woman directed him to an apartment on East Watertown Street, where he was assaulted and robbed by a male inside. The man escaped and contacted police. The woman, 25-year-old Shayna Long of Rapid City, has been arrested and faces multiple charges. Authorities continue to search for the male suspect.
Meade 46-1 School District Sees Slight Drop in Preliminary Fall Enrollment
STURGIS, S.D. — Preliminary fall enrollment numbers for the Meade 46-1 School District are down slightly from last year. Unofficial figures show K-12 attendance at 2,993 students, below the budgeted 3,028. The official count will be recorded on the last Friday in September.

Reports show 331 homes were for sale in June in the 57701 zip code and 436 homes were available across the broader market at the end of July. Prices in the Black Hills region range widely, from $39,900 to a high-end property listed at $36.8 million, underscoring the extremes of the market. The data was compiled from Realtor.com, Zillow, Redfin, Hegg Realtors, Rocket Mortgage, Movoto, Trulia and Century 21.
Israel bombs another Gaza City high-rise as US advances a new ceasefire proposal

Hegseth and Caine visit Puerto Rico as US steps up military operations in the Caribbean

Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have arrived in Puerto Rico as the U.S. steps up its military operations against drug cartels in the Caribbean. Their arrival Monday in the U.S. territory comes more than a week after ships carrying hundreds of U.S. Marines deployed to Puerto Rico for what officials said was a training exercise, a move that some on the island have criticized. But Hegseth said in a video posted on X late Monday that the deployed Marines were not training but “on the front lines.” The visit comes as the U.S. prepares to deploy 10 F-35 fighter jets to Puerto Rico.
Stocks tick higher after Wall Street flirts with another record
