RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Area Schools (RCAS) Board of Education voted 3-1 on Tuesday to adopt a policy revision that removes sexual orientation as a protected class under its definition of discrimination and restricts transgender students from using multi-occupancy bathrooms and changing rooms that do not align with their gender assigned at birth. The policy change follows state-level legislation including the “Help Not Harm” law and HB1259, which limit gender-affirming care for minors and restrict bathroom use based on biological sex. Khamenei spoke a day after U.S. President Donald Trump demanded in a social media post that Iran surrender without conditions and warned Khamenei that the U.S. knows where he is but has no plans to kill him for now.

The world’s only twice-a-year shot to prevent HIV could stop transmission — if people can get it

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Food and Drug Administration has approved the world’s only twice-a-year shot to prevent HIV. In two groundbreaking studies, Gilead Sciences’ shot, a drug named lenacapavir, nearly eliminated new infections in two groundbreaking studies of people at high risk. It will be sold under the brand name Yeztugo. Wednesday’s approval marks the first step in an anticipated global rollout that experts say could protect millions if they can get access. Drastic cuts to public health in the U.S. and abroad cloud the prospects.
