RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Country music icon Tanya Tucker will headline the final night of the 2025 Central States Fair, officials announced Monday. The two-time GRAMMY® winner will cap off the Black Hills Energy Concert Series, bringing her legendary voice and storied career to the stage in Rapid City.

Tucker, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2023, rose to fame at just 13 years old with the breakout hit “Delta Dawn.” Over her decades-long career, she’s landed 56 Top 40 singles and 23 Top 40 albums, including 10 No. 1 hits on the Billboard country charts.

Known for hits such as “Two Sparrows in a Hurricane,” “Strong Enough to Bend” and “Texas (When I Die),” Tucker continues to inspire generations with her signature sound and enduring presence in the country music world.

“It’s not every day we get to bring a living legend to the Black Hills,” said Central States Fair General Manager Ron Jeffries. “Tanya Tucker has blazed trails in country music, and having her close out our concert series is truly the cherry on top of an incredible week of entertainment.”

Tucker’s late-career resurgence was chronicled in the 2022 documentary The Return of Tanya Tucker, Featuring Brandi Carlile, and she made her acting debut in 2023 with A Nashville Country Christmas. Her ventures also include a growing tequila brand, Cosa Salvaje, available across the U.S. and Canada.

Tucker’s performance will take place during the final weekend of the fair, which runs August 15–23, 2025. Tickets go on sale June 2 at CentralStatesFair.com.
