Former NFL head coaches find benefits in taking advisory roles with different teams
Former Denver Broncos head coach and New York Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is resetting his coaching career by taking an advisory role in Green Bay helping out the Packers’ defense. It’s similar to the change longtime defensive assistant Robert Saleh made when he came to Green Bay to work with the offense after the Jets fired him as head coach. Teams across the league have hired former head coaches or coordinators for positions that don’t necessarily rise to the ranks of position coaches or coordinators.
