Sturgis Police, Meade County Sheriff release latest Rally Stats

STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis Police reported 6 D.U.I., 4 misdemeanor drug arrests and 4 felony drug arrests in their daily rally report.

Police also handed 3 fight calls and handed out 17 citations for illegal parking Tuesday.

Police hae made 52 non-traffic related arrests year-to-date and 79 traffic-related arrests.

Police say 76 people have been booked into the Meade County Jail.

Traffic Stops: 71 (64)

DUI Arrests: 3 (3)

Drug Arrests: 1 (0)

Simple Assaults: 1 (0)

Injury Crashes: 0 (1)

Non-Injury Crashes: 2 (1)

The Meade County Sheriff’s Office also listed an accident they responded to Wednesday Morning. In a Facebook Post, the sheriff’s office wrote:

This morning, our dedicated first responders responded swiftly to a motorcycle accident in Vanocker Canyon. The rider was unable to negotiate a curve, resulting in a collision with a guardrail and a steep embankment. Through exceptional teamwork and coordination, between multiple agencies, Black Hills Life Flight was able to transport the rider to Rapid City.

We are pleased to report that the rider was conscious and engaging with our team upon arrival, and is expected to make a full recovery.
