STURGIS, S.D. – New members of the Sturgis Council were sworn in Monday night.

Elected at April’s municipal election were Mark Chaplin for Ward 3 and Terry Jensen for Ward 4. Mayor Kevin Forrester, Ward 1 councilor Alex Usera and Ward 2 councilor Tony Dargatz ran unopposed and were also sworn in.

The council then elected Tony Dargatz to serve as President for the term and Alex Usera was chosen to serve at Vice-President.

The council was also introduced to the new Sturgis Ambulance Director, Aden Schillig.

Schillig says he has been a flight paramedic for 29 years and have worked in several midwestern states.

He told the council Monday night he looks forward to “right the ship to get it going.”
