Rapid City, SD – A stellar offensive performance from Max Speed propelled the Post 320 Stars to a 12-4 victory over the Sheridan Troopers on Saturday at Sheridan. Speed drove in four runs on three hits, including a double and a single.

The Stars jumped out to an early lead in the first inning with a sacrifice fly from Speed and an RBI single by Max Schoenhard. They extended their advantage in the second, scoring three more runs thanks to an RBI fielder’s choice by Dave Mraz, a sacrifice fly by Tegan Sayles, and an RBI double from Speed.

Sayles started on the mound for Post 320, pitching three innings and allowing three runs (none earned) on two hits while striking out four. The Stars’ bullpen held the Troopers in check with scoreless innings from Kason Kostenbauer, Speed, and Colton Mehlhaff.
Post 320’s offense tallied 11 hits, with Kostenbauer, Sayles, and Gaven Heintzman each recording multiple hits. The Stars also displayed patience at the plate, drawing eight walks and stealing two bases (Sayles).
The Post 320 Stars will be back in action next Saturday against CBC Post 2 Oilers.
