SPEARFISH, SD – The Spearfish City Council Monday approved Resolution 2025-54 to update certain fees at the Spearfish Rec Center, as well as library card fee for patrons living outside of Lawrence County.
Parks and Recreation Director Tyler Ehnes explained the department tries to review and update the fees on a two- or three-year rotation, with most of the fees last adjusted in 2023. The increases include fees associated with the waterpark, rec center classes and clinics, locker rentals, swim lessons, and summer rec programming. He added the Spearfish Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Advisory Board reviewed the fee updates and recommended the changes at its Oct. 16th meeting.
In addition to the rec center fees, the other updated fee within the resolution is for Grace Balloch Memorial Library; the fee for a library card for patrons outside of Lawrence County has increased from $30 to $35.
