SPEARFISH, S.D. – In prep Cross Country Friday, the Spearfish girls swept the top three spots of the Northern Hills Invite.
Peyton Van Deese won the race in a time of 17:53.06. Her teammate Kori Keil came in second and Sierra Sandford placed third.
Spearfish won the team title with Thunder Basin coming in second. Sturgis finished in fourth behind Hill City in third. Top placing Scooper was Lucy Hamer in 9th place.
Taylor Colunga of Sturgis won the boys race in a time of 16:24.68. Newcastle’s Sam Cunningham was second and Jadon Shamion of Campbell County was third.
Thunder Basin captured the team title with Sturgis coming in second and Spearfish placing third.
