SPEARFISH, S.D. — A Spearfish child care provider working at a licensed facility has been charged with first degree rape and sexual contact with a minor, according to court records.
Documents available as of Thursday do not name the location the alleged acts took place.
Court records show that a Sarah Mae Hazledine, 48, is facing felony charges of 1st degree rape of a child under age 13 and sexual contact with a with a minor under age 16.
Hazledine is out on a $75,000 she posted Thursday. March 20, 2025.
Her full charges are: rape first degree of a child under the age of 13 — a Class 6 felony with a mandatory minimum sentence of 15-years, or in the alternative; sexual contact with a minor Under Age 16 — a Class 3 felony.
