SPEARFISH, S.D. – Spearfish Fire is investigating a structure fire that destroyed a house and garage this past Thursday.
Spearfish Fire crews responded to the home on Lower Redwater Road at approximately 10:54 the night of July 3.
The fire reportedly began in the garage and has spread to the adjoining house.
When deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrived at just after 11:00 p.m., everyone in the home was outside of the structures.
Spearfish Fire requested assistance from Deadwood and Belle Fourche to help battle the blaze.
Spearfish Fire continued to battle the blaze through the night and into the following day before declaring the fire was out.
The owners of the home, Lucy and Kyle Conklin, received minor injuries while they were getting themselves out of the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
