South Dakota Sees Rise in Credit Card Delinquency

Rapid City, South Dakota – Consumers across South Dakota are seeing their personal credit scores increasingly at risk as credit card delinquency rates continue to climb nationwide. A new report by the personal-finance company WalletHub shows that South Dakota ranks fourth overall among states where credit card delinquency is increasing the most in the first half of 2025.

The analysis, which assessed credit card delinquency across all 50 states, found a concerning trend impacting individuals’ financial health. For the second quarter of 2025, South Dakota posted a significant rise in late credit card payments.
