PIERRE, S.D. — South Dakota Lottery players saw an exciting boost in winnings following Tuesday’s drawing of the newly enhanced Mega Millions game, with 440 players statewide sharing in $8,392 in total prizes.

Thanks to the game’s new built-in multiplier feature, many winners saw their earnings increase significantly. Without the multiplier, total winnings would have amounted to just $2,770. Among the boosted prizes were 20 players who had their winnings multiplied by 10—including three players who watched their $10 prizes grow to $100 each.

One lucky ticket holder also saw their prize double to $400 thanks to a 2x multiplier.

Players now look ahead to Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, which features a jackpot of $72 million. With only one ticket needed to win, anticipation is high among South Dakota lottery fans.

The South Dakota Lottery also reminds winners that prizes between $101 and $5,000 can now be claimed via the official mobile app. Eligible players can scan their winning tickets and receive payouts through secure ACH transactions.
