SUMMERSET, S.D. – Summerset Police and the Meade County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shots fires incident that happened in the early morning hours of Monday, June 9.
Officers from the Summerset Police Department and the Meade County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of shots fired in the area of Diamond T Circle, located in the Pine Hills Mobile Home Park.
Preliminary investigation indicates that an unidentified individual discharged multiple rounds in the vicinity before fleeing the scene in a red SUV. Law enforcement arrived shortly after the call was received; however, the suspect had already left the area.
At this time, there have been no reported injuries or property damage resulting from the incident.
Summerset authorities say this matter remains under active investigation.
