RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Police Department (RCPD) is investigating a shooting they say happened shortly before 4:00p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Star Village.
Police say no suspects are in custody yet. Investigators are looking for 18-year-old Jaxon Jewett who is being sought for attempted murder, and is considered armed, dangerous, and shouldn’t be approached.
RCPD says the victim is a man who was shot in the shoulder. He is expected to survive.
