RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man was arrested Tuesday evening after police were called to a disturbance on Omaha Street, close to Jerry’s Cakes & Donuts. The man, who was allegedly attempting to fight people and threatening to throw rocks, was later charged with threatening a law enforcement officer while being transported to jail.
According to a press release from the Rapid City Police Department, officers were dispatched to 35 Omaha Street, Jerry’s Cakes & Donuts, around 6:55 p.m. on August 5 for a report of an unwanted shirtless man. The suspect was located across the street and identified as 47-year-old David Lonewolf of Rapid City.
A search of Lonewolf’s person revealed an open container of alcohol. He was arrested for Failure to Vacate and Open Container in Public. While en route to the Pennington County Jail, Lonewolf allegedly made threats against the transporting officer and was subsequently booked on an additional charge of Threatening Law Enforcement. Lonewolf was booked into the Pennington County Jail at 7:28pm.
