RAPID CITY, SD – Tippabattini Jayaramudu, Ph.D., a research scientist at South Dakota Mines, has been selected to join the editorial board of Marine Drugs, an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute.
The Journal focuses on research, development and production of biologically active compounds derived from marine sources and publishes in areas including marine natural products, pharmacology, biotechnology and biomaterials of marine origin, emphasizing the translation of marine bioresources into therapeutic, environmental and industrial solutions.
Jayaramudu was one of 30 researchers worldwide selected for the Early Career Editorial Board.
“Being selected as an early career editorial board member of Marine Drugs is both an honor and an inspiration,” he said.
His research focuses on developing biopolymer-based materials, particularly chitosan and sodium alginate-based hydrogels, films and nanocomposites for biomedical and environmental applications.
“These marine-derived and bioinspired polymers align closely with the journal’s vision of advancing sustainable and nature-based materials for human and environmental health,” Jayaramudu said. “This role provides an excellent platform to connect my work on functional biopolymers with the broader scientific efforts to harness marine and natural compounds for societal benefit.”
