STURGIS, S.D. – The South Dakota Highway Patrol released their final rally stat report Sunday.
The report included three injury crashes that occurred on Highway 14A and Highway 16. None of the crashes involved serious injuries.
The patrol ended the year with 66 injury accidents and 27 non-injury accidents. There were four fatalities included in the report.
D.U.I. arrests totaled 119, down from last year’s 155. Misdemeanor drug arrests totaled 266 and felony drug arrests were 104 – both also down from the previous year.
Meanwhile, Sturgis Police also issued their final report Sunday.
It showed the number of D.U.I. arrests at 58, down from last year’s 66. There were 55 misdemeanor drug arrests and 47 felony drug arrests. D.U.I and misdemeanor drug arrests were down over last year while felony drug arrests were up slightly.
Police saw an increase in disorderly conduct arrests, which totaled 22 this year, while assaults totaled 18 – right in line with the previous year.
Sturgis Police doled out 146 illegal parking citations this year. Those numbers were down from last year’s 167. Police say speeding citations were also down this year while stop sign violations were the same as last year.
In all, Sturgis Police made 97 non-traffic arrests and 114 traff-related arrests. Both those numbers are down from last year. Police report they booked 142 people into the Meade County Jail.
