RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Badlands Sabres completed a clean sweep against the Butte Irish this weekend, delivering back-to-back dominant performances on home ice in Rapid City.
Friday Night Victory
On Friday, October 31, 2025, the Sabres opened the series with a convincing 5-1 win over the Irish.
The scoring started in the first period with Rylan Olson, assisted by Sawyer Vann and Jackson Roethler. Shortly after, Justin Reams added to the lead, with assists from Vann and Peyton Kostad.
The Sabres extended their lead in the second period. Oliver Giles netted a goal, assisted by Rhylan Olson, who then scored one of his own with help from Giles and Maddox Harn. Gaven Marx capped the period’s scoring with an unassisted goal.
The third period remained scoreless, with the Sabres’ defense holding firm to secure the 5-1 final score.

Saturday’s Follow-up Win
The two teams faced off again on Saturday, November 1, 2025, for the second match of the weekend. The Badlands Sabres finished the sweep with a 6-2 victory.
The Sabres again got off to a quick start in the first period. Oliver Giles scored the opener, assisted by Sawyer Vann and Dayton Niedert. Niedert then followed up with a goal, assisted by Rhylan Olson.
In the second period, Maddox Harn found the back of the net, assisted by Kyyan Jahner and Carter Kilen. Patrick Gosselin added the fourth goal, with assists from Logan Salo and Justin Reams.
The Sabres wrapped up the scoring in the third period. Carter Kilen scored, assisted by Charlie Eastman and Kyyan Jahner. Dayton Niedert scored the final goal of the night, unassisted, completing the 6-2 win in Rapid City.
