Indy Fuel Drive it Home Against Rapid City Rush

Indianapolis- The Indy Fuel win the first of a three-game series against the Rapid City Rush 5-4 in an overtime win at Fishers Event Center witnessed by 2,715 people.

Rapid City, running only three lines due to injuries and suspensions, started strong scoring first with Hubbarde’s ( Pauls, Wood ) goal at 5:45. Smedsrud (Chyzowski, Murphy) at 12:02 doubled the lead.

Indy’s Robinson ( Cameron, Lombardi) at 15:06 halved that lead.

Chyzowski (Smedsrud ) with only 2:06 left in the period brought the Rush’s lead to 3-1 to end the first period. 

The second period brought some textbook hockey.  Wagner’s (Wilkie, Van Unen) goal at 13:03 was matched by Indys’ Panwar (Petgrave, Lapid) at 14:26. 

Lombardi( Ennis, Tucker )at 16:31 stole the insurance goal.

The second period ended  4-3 in favor of the Rush.

The Rapid City Rushes minor penalty for hooking ( Fyten) at 2:33 of the third period set up the Panwar ( Israels, Grima) power play goal at 4:03. 

 The third period ended in a 4-4 tie.

The Fuels’  Lapid (Petgrave ,Robinson) slipped the biscuit in at 1:02 of the overtime to earn the win for the Indy Fuel. 

Shots on goal were 18 to 38 in favor of Indy.  The winning goalies for the Indy Fuel were Weeks /Flores with Murphy taking the loss for Rapid City.

These teams will meet again at the Fishers Event Center on Friday, November 14th.
