Rapid City, SD — The Rapid City Rush announced Thursday that the team has signed forward Cameron Buhl for the 2025-26 season, adding a Minnesota native with ECHL experience to the roster.

The announcement came via a Heartland Health & Wellness Roster Adjustment. Buhl, 26, is the fifth forward to sign with the Rush, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames.

Buhl split his rookie season between the Utah Grizzlies and the Savannah Ghost Pirates, playing in 47 combined games. He recorded four goals and eight points during his time with the two clubs. Notably, he scored his first professional goal against the Rush on Oct. 26, 2024, in Rapid City.

Before turning pro, Buhl played five years of collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York, appearing in 139 games. During his time there, he played against new Rush Head Coach and General Manager Dave Smith, who was at RPI.

At the junior level, Buhl holds the all-time points and assists records for the NAHL’s Minnesota Magicians, where he played for three full seasons.

Buhl joins Ryan Wagner, Parker Bowman, Jonathan Yantsis, and Chaz Smedsrud as the forwards signed for the upcoming season. Goaltender Christian Propp has also been announced as a signing for the Rush, who will compete for the Kelly Cup in the upcoming season, bringing exciting hockey action to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
