Rush Secure First Win of Season

In a game of firsts the Rapid City Rush beat the Kansas City Mavericks by a score of 5 – 2 to conclude the opening weekend series in Independence Missouri. 

First highlights for the Rapid City Rush include: 

Head coach Dave Smith bringing home his first win in a professional coaching role. 

Goalie Arsenii Sergeev winning his first professional game.  Sergeev made 36 saves on 38 attempts during his first professional outing.

Jake Ratzlaff scoring his first goal as a professional hockey player.

The game started pensive the first period ended tied at zero. 

In the second period Ryan Chyzowski netted two and  Blake Bennett scored one. The third period  saw Jake Ratzlaff bring one home and Mitchell Smith sweetened the victory with his empty net goal..

A much more fluid game with many of the previous games shortcomings repaired the Rapid City Rush bring home the win.
