Rapid City, SD – The Movember Foundation’s Mustache Cup is a unique initiative that will see ECHL teams go head-to-head earning donations in support of men’s health through the Movember foundation
The Rapid City Rush represented by Mustache Cup team captain Savannah Green assisted by Georgia Veatch and Lilyen McCarthy are proud allies in the fight for mens wellbeing. The team has set a goal of $250.
The Movember foundation is the leading charity in changing men’s health and is the only charity tackling men’s health challenges on a global scale.
The movement which began in 2019 is signified with the mustache. If possible people are encouraged to grow a natural mustache. By using the power of the mustache to create conversations and raise funds regarding men’s health.
Movember is not just for people who can grow mustaches. The folically challenged can also join as Mo sisters and are encouraged to raise awareness, donate, organize events or join in physical challenges to bring light to men’s health.
Move for mental health is how the Order of Mo remembers the 60 men lost to suicide globally every hour. You can register at Movember.com to run or walk 60 miles in Movember to commemorate these souls and support men’s health.
Social pressure, stigma, and lack of resources often prevent men from seeking help.
Movember funds mental health programs, advocates for better access to care, advocates for mental health policy changes and creates campaigns to reduce stigma around seeking help for symptoms. It also initiates community support networks.
Donations earned during the Mustache Cup go towards:
- Funding groundbreaking cancer research
- Improving treatment options
- Developing resources that help men navigate their health journeys
Let’s join the Rush this Movember and encourage the men in our lives to get regular screenings for testicular cancer, prostate cancer and mental health symptoms.
