Swim Meet
Rapid City, SD – The 2025 Rushmore Summer Classic Swim Meet, hosted by the Rushmore
Swim Team (RST) Tsunami wrapped up this past weekend (20-22 June) at the Roosevelt Swim
Center’s Olympic distance (50m) pool. The meet was a smashing success. 327 swimmers from 5
states (CO, MT, WY, ND, SD) representing 22 teams competed in the meet. RST Tsunami and
other local and regional teams competed well against their visitors.
From RST, Izzy Renaud qualified for Speedo Sectionals in the 200m breaststroke, as well as
achieving the Sectionals bonus time for the 100m breaststroke. The 200m medley relay team of
Colt, Charlie, Keegan, and Owen shattered their own state record by nearly 2 seconds. 136
swims received state qualifying times for RST.
Up next for our local teams is the Speedo Sectionals in Minneapolis (10-13 June), the SD State
“B” Championships in Pierre (11-13 June), the SD State “A” Championships in Sioux Falls (18-
20 June), and USA Swimming’s Futures Championship in Madison, WI (23-26 July).
The Rushmore Swim Team is a member of USA Swimming and South Dakota Swimming, Inc.
