RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Police Department is investigating a Tuesday morning shooting on the 3600 block of Meadowbrook Drive in Rapid City.
RCPD officers were called to Meadowbrook Drive around 2:25 on Tuesday morning for a reported shooting. The caller told officers they saw several people looking around a vehicle parked in their driveway.
After noticing the people outside of the residence, the caller confronted the individuals.
It was reported a passenger in a black vehicle fired one shot in the direction of the caller before the suspects got into a black and silver vehicle to leave the scene.
No one was injured and officers were not able to locate any damage on the exterior of the home form the gunfire.
Police located vehicles matching the description of the suspect vehicles traveling along Founders Park Drive at high speeds. Police tried to catch up to the vehicles but lost sight of them in a residential area.
The silver vehicle was found abandoned around Silver and North street with visible damage, but the black vehicle has not been located.
RCPD is asking anyone in the Meadowbrook Drive neighborhood to check their outdoor cameras for suspicious activity between 1:00 and 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
