As we roll into another November weekend in the Black Hills, Rapid City is lighting up with local music, art, shopping, and laughter. Whether you’re craving a craft beer and some live tunes, ready to belt out Disney throwbacks, or hunting for that perfect flannel deal downtown, there’s no shortage of reasons to get out and enjoy the city this weekend.

Friday, November 7: Local Music, Art, and Laughter Take the Stage

The weekend kicks off with a celebration of hometown sound as the MoonCats bring their “Animal Style” Album Release Tour to Lost Cabin Brewing Co. starting at 5 p.m. The group will have copies of their brand-new record available on both CD and 180-gram vinyl, giving fans a tangible slice of their signature energy. Expect the perfect pairing of cold craft beer, warm camaraderie, and a setlist full of crowd favorites and new hits.

Just a few blocks away, Firehouse Wine Cellars is hosting Singo Bingo: Classic Rock and Disney Throwbacks at 6 p.m. This two-round music bingo night promises plenty of laughs and nostalgia, starting with an all-out rock party featuring hits from The Eagles, Heart, and Van Halen, before jumping straight into the early 2000s with Hannah Montana, Selena Gomez, and Big Time Rush. It’s equal parts karaoke, bingo, and chaotic singalong — complete with prizes and plenty of bragging rights.

Art lovers can head over to the Dahl Arts Center for one of the season’s most anticipated events — the Dahl Haus Art Auction & Haus Party, beginning at 6 p.m. The evening will feature over 50 original works by regional artists, specialty cocktails by Windsor Block Bar, and hors d’oeuvres from Nell’s Gourmet. Emceed by Ryan Puffer of Black Hills Community Theatre, the event culminates in an electrifying DJ set by Soulscend from 8:30 to 10:30 in the Cyclorama. Funds raised from the auction support the Rapid City Arts Council’s programs and future community art initiatives.

And if you’re looking to laugh until your sides hurt, don’t miss Ben Roy live at the West River Comedy Club at 7:30 p.m. The Denver-based comedian — known from Comedy Central, HBO, and Hulu — brings his raw, high-energy brand of comedy to the Black Hills. His acclaimed special HYENA was named one of NPR’s Best of 2023, and his stand-up performances are equal parts unfiltered, intense, and unforgettable.

Saturday, November 8: Flannel, Shopping, Rock, and Country Hits

Saturday morning brings one of downtown’s coziest and most beloved events — Downtown Flannel Day. Starting at 8 a.m. and running all day, participating local shops are offering exclusive discounts for anyone rocking their favorite flannel. The lineup includes local favorites like Victoria’s Garden, UPROOTED, Pure Fox, Whim & Wise, and Roam’n Around — all adding their own unique twist to the day’s festivities. It’s the perfect excuse to support small businesses, grab some early holiday gifts, and embrace the fall spirit in true Rapid City fashion.

As evening rolls in, things get loud at ABY’s, where Concerning Behaviors will take the stage at 6 p.m. Known for their heavy riffs and intense live presence, this local rock band knows how to turn a Saturday night into a full-blown metal party.

Then, over at The Park, the Dueling Pianos Official Road Show kicks off at 8 p.m. This isn’t your average piano bar — expect wild comedy roasts, audience singalongs, and a brand-new “Hip Hop, Hair, and Flannel” twist that’s unlike anything Rapid City has seen before.

And for country fans, the big event of the weekend is happening at The Monument’s Summit Arena, where Zach Top brings his Cold Beer & Country Music Tour to Rapid City, joined by special guest Jake Worthington. The show starts at 8 p.m. and promises a night of authentic, high-energy country that blends honky-tonk roots with modern polish.

Whether you’re in the mood for art, live music, or just some good old-fashioned local fun, this weekend has something for everyone. Grab your friends, wear your flannel, and make the most of it — because Rapid City knows how to do weekends right.
