RAPID CITY, S.D. – A St. Thomas More student in Rapid City has been named a finalist in a national competition.
Brady Sage is one of 30 finalists in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge (JIC), a premier STEM competition for middle school students. The event is founded and produced by Society for Science and aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators.

This year’s finalists were chosen from 1,890 applicants across 48 states, Washington, D.C., and U.S. territories. The finalists will travel to Washington, D.C., from Oct. 24-29 to compete in the final round of the competition. The students will be evaluated on their STEM skills, critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration. The top prize is $25,000, which is sponsored by Thermo Fisher Scientific.
