WATERTOWN, S.D. – The 2025 South Dakota American Legion State Class A Baseball Tournament got off to a surprising start as Rapid City Post 22 lost their opening game to their arch rival this morning.
Rapid City Post 320, who entered the tournament as the 8th seed, stunned the Hardhats 4-1.
Laadon Faatz pitched a complete game for Post 320, surrendering 6 hits to the Hardhats, but the Stars only allowed one run. Faatz had five strikeouts on the day.
Post 22 will now need to work their way back through the losers bracket. They will play tomorrow morning against the loser of the Brandon Valley/Renner game this evening.
