Rapid City man sentenced to prison for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A 19-year-old Rapid City man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to being in possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Jeremy Highhorse was sentenced to two years and 10 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Police say Highhorse led them on a high speed chase in a stolen car in April of last year. He was arrested following the chase and he was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm as well.

Highhorse pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a stolen firearm in February.
