NEW YORK, NY — While Rapid City focuses on elections and the beginnings of the tourism season, half a country away, two of Rapid City’s own found their way into a sweeping six acre immersive installation.

Created by Award-Winning filmmaker Daniella Vale, Path of Liberty: That Which Unites Us opened on the 15th, and provides a cross-country look “highlighting everyday Americans whose voices and values strengthen our democracy”. The installation features “20-foot-tall portraits, immersive film, and intimate audio storytelling”.

On the national stage as well are locals Brady Jones and Laurinda Tapper of the Rapid City Public Library. Jones brings lifelong contributions to the library, journalistic field, and spearheaded the introduction of a “bookmobile” with the intention of bringing books to more neighborhoods and public spaces. Tapper has spearheaded an initiative to bring free-to-use 3D Printing and CNC machines to the library, as well as podcasting equipment, “We really try to be in touch with what our community needs and meet that, wherever they’re at home,” Says Tapper in the film.

The installation, including the film featuring Jones and Tapper is free and open to the public, and presented by the Soloviev Foundation in partnership with the Museum of the American Revolution.
