RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Area Schools (RCAS) will proudly host the 2025 Senior Honoring Ceremony on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Stevens High School. This annual celebration recognizes the achievements of graduating Native American seniors across the district. It honors the perseverance, dedication, and accomplishments of these students as they reach a significant milestone in their educational journey.

“For area Native American Tribes, the presentation of an eagle feather to an individual for their achievement, good deed, or service to the community is the highest form of honor and a cherished tradition,” said Ira Taken Alive, RCAS Title VI Manager. “To witness a group of graduating seniors receive eagle feathers is both moving and deeply meaningful. The Class of 2025 may again mark the largest number of Native American graduates in RCAS history.”

The evening will include a traditional meal, a graduation Grand Entry, Lakota honor songs, the blessing and presentation of eagle feathers, and a keynote address by Dr. Justin Conroy, Principal of RCAS Title 1D.
