STURGIS, S.D. – South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson’s visit to the Black Hills yesterday drew protestors against the current Trump administration – particularly the amount of power being given to Elon Musk.

Protestors were out during Johnson’s tour of the new Spearfish High School  Career and Technical Education Center as well as his visit to Sturgis, where he participated in a Vietnam Veterans pining ceremony at the V.F.W.

Jeff Jacobson of Rapid City was one of the protestors at Dusty’s Sturgis event

Sturgis Police Chief Geody Vandewater says the protestors were peaceful, however an arrest was made when a male identified as John Henry approached the group and ended up shoving one of them to the ground. He was charged with Simple Assault.

The protestors did not go inside the establishment where the pining ceremony took place.

They held signs against cuts to the V.A. and stated support to Vets by not cutting their benefits.

Protestors were expected to be out during Dusty’s visit to Rapid City Central high school Thursday.
