Rapid City, SD – Post 22 Hardhats 2025 defeated CBC Post 2 Oilers “AA” in a dominant 10-0 victory. The Hardhats offense exploded early, scoring five runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second. Pitcher Declan Mickley was outstanding, throwing five shutout innings with seven strikeouts to earn the win.

“Once again, the story was on the mound. Declan Mickley made his first start. Missing last year due to Tommy John surgery and he threw exceptionally well. It was fun to watch him out there.” Said head coach Kelvin Tore.

“Five innings, seven strikeouts. I think he only gave up one hit. So when you’re throwing strikes and striking guys out. g things are going to happen… We had ten hits as a team. We didn’t really run the bases today because we probably didn’t have to, but it was a good team win, we’re staying competitive. The issue for us now is we have twelve days off before our next game. The veterans tournament is the next time we’re on the field. So we’re going to have to maintain our focus over this twelve day period, which will not be easy. So we’re going to have to practice hard… After the game tonight, the first third of the season is over and we’re playing well, but the first third of the season doesn’t win state championships. You have to maintain it for another two months.”
