Post 22 18U Sweeps Doubleheader Against Miles City

Rapid City, SD – The Rapid City Post 22 18U baseball team enjoyed a successful Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader against the Miles City Outlaw Baseball Club at home. Post 22 dominated the first game with a decisive 10-1 victory before securing a 7-3 win in the afternoon matchup.


Game 1:
Post 22 18U came out strong in the opener, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning thanks to singles from Reegan Turnquist. They continued to build their lead, adding two more runs in the second and two in the third to take a commanding 7-0 advantage.


Brayden Stapert pitched a gem for Post 22, earning the win by allowing just one hit and no runs over five innings while striking out five. The offense was powered by a 12-hit attack, with Easton Tesch, Paxton Fisher, Turnquist, and Bridger Karn each collecting two hits. Turnquist led the team with three RBIs, and Post 22 showcased their speed on the basepaths, stealing eight bases, with Ben Hassett and Tesch each swiping multiple bags.


Game 2:
Post 22 carried their momentum into the second game, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Hadley Burrus hit a leadoff double, an OBC error allowed a run to score, and Reagan Koskan added a sacrifice fly. Ben Hassett’s second-inning triple extended the Post 22 lead.


Luke Hanzlik earned the win for Post 22, pitching four innings and allowing two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. Declan Mickley started the game strong, pitching two innings and surrendering just one unearned run while striking out three. Trevor Schlosser closed out the game with a scoreless inning, striking out all three batters he faced. Hassett led the Post 22 offense with two hits, while Burrus, Schlosser, Taten Gittings, Hassett, and Koskan each drove in a run.
