RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police are investigating a gunshot reported in an apartment building on Atlas Street early Saturday morning. No injuries were reported in the incident.
At approximately 3:45 a.m. on June 1, officers were dispatched to an apartment at 1322 Atlas Street after a resident reported hearing a gunshot and discovering a bullet hole in their floor.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with residents in the adjacent apartment to ensure no one was injured. When no one responded, police forced entry into the unit, but no individuals were found inside.
The case has been assigned to a detective for further investigation. Authorities are working to identify those responsible for the gunfire.
