RAPID CITY, SD — At 5:15am a dispatch following a reported hit-and-run resulted in a search which revealed the suspects unlawfully occupying a home on Signal Drive which was at the time uninhabited (A Class 1 Misdemeanor In South Dakota).
“On arrival, police spoke to the reporting party who stated the driver of a light-colored SUV had struck their vehicle in a shared driveway before leaving the area. Upon review of security camera footage captured of the incident, the SUV was seen in the driveway before several occupants exit the vehicle and enter a nearby house,” said RCPD Representative Brendyn Medina. Following this, the police contacted the property owner, who stated the home was not supposed to be occupied.
Police located 31-year-old Lupe Sasse and 33-year-old Danialle Longsoldier inside, determining that both inhabitants were on parole, arresting them on counts of Unlawful Occupancy and Parole Holds. Police investigation into the original hit-and-run case is ongoing.
