RAPID CITY, SD — In the early morning today (around 12:20am) police were dispatched to 1610 Caregiver Ct. (The Circle K near to the Holiday Inn Express, on the southwestern corner of Rapid City) after receiving reports of an assault which had just taken place.
Police were able to make contact with the two victims of the assault upon arrival, who reported they were parked at the location when they were approached by the perpetrator who began to assault them before fleeing northwest. “A drone was requested to help search the area of the suspect.” Said the RCPD in a statement following the incident, and quickly “A deputy from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office arrived with a drone. The deputy deployed the drone and was able to locate a human figure hiding in a ravine south of Edinborough Drive”.
The suspect, 19-year-old Mikael Fox of Rapid City, was taken into custody shortly afterward, where he was placed under arrest for two counts of Aggravated Assault, Criminal Entry of a Motor Vehicle, Impersonation to Deceive Law Enforcement, and two Warrants.
